Headquartered in the city of Greenville—between Atlanta and Charlotte—the not-for-profit company formerly known as Greenville Health System today operates hospitals, emergency centers, physician practices, and specialized facilities that span a range of services. These include cancer care, children’s care, nursing, heart and vascular care, medicine, orthopedics and neurosurgery, radiology, primary care, rehabilitation, surgery, and women’s health, as well as pharmacy.
The Greenville Memorial Medical Campus is a designated 24-hour Level I Emergency Trauma Center and the only Level 1 Trauma Center for Children in South Carolina.
With all the important tasks it must carry out, there are certain things Prisma shouldn’t have to deal with. Among those things is a provider that can’t give it the support it needs without first strong-arming them into a system upgrade. Prisma’s initial provider put no small amount of pressure on it to upgrade its legacy Nortel systems. Not only did this cost time and money, but it also put a lot of stress on Prisma’s internal team.
Continuant was able to turn that all around. Sending Prisma the aid of two on-site technicians, Continuant offered helpful support that helped reduce costs and extend the longevity of the system. Now Prisma’s Avaya and Nortel user base of more than 20,000 could reliably communicate with one another.
Today, Continuant still offers Prisma Health the support it needs with its legacy system, while also lending aid in its plans to transition to a Cisco UC solution. With Continuant’s extensive experience in the healthcare industry, Continuant will surely be able to provide the insight it needs to excel in the future.
